GUWAHATI: Dima Hasao Adventure Association (DHAA) in collaboration with Tourism Department, Dima Hasao on Sunday organized an adventure sports at Haludao village near Diyung bridge, around 6 km away from district HQ Haflong. The adventure sports includes rappelling, zip lining etc..
Earlier to mark the day, a 9 km marathon from Boathouse, Haflong to Diyung bridge was flag off early in the morning by North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) Chairperson Ranu Langthasa in presence of NCHAC executive member (i/c) Monjit Naiding, Dima Hasao, DC Paul Barua and other dignitaries. The marathon was categories for both men and women with no age bar, where over hundreds participated.
Later a formal celebration of the day was organized at Haludao village where NCHAC Chief Executive Member Debolal Gorlosa graced the program as a chief guest along with other dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering CEM Gorlosa stressed on tourism potential in the district and said that tourism can create employment and sustains healthy rural economics. He also appeals to preserve faunas of the district and maintain cleanliness in all tourist spots as to attract more tourist of both local and foreign.
