
Imphal, May 21,2022: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh along with the council of ministers and MLAs observed the Anti-Terrorism day at Imphal. The day is observed on death anniversary of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi who was assisinated at Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu.
He was speaking at the Anti-Terrorism Day observation in Imphal on Saturday. Manipur chief minister informed that the day is observed every year to remember the death of India’s former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi, who was assassinated during an election campaign in Tamil Nadu 31 years ago.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh stated that 20 years ago, foreign investors were unwilling to invest in the state. Chief Minister said that now, the Japanese International Cooperation Agency want to invest in the state due to improved law and order situation.
Stressing that development and peace go hand in hand, he said, ‘The little development and improvement witnessed in the hills today is because of the cooperation of the people and their desire for peace’.
He said that over the last five years, the Manipur has been able to create a cohesive relationship among the people with the schemes like Meeyamgi Numit (People’s Day). Now, Meeyamgi Numit will also be held by DCs and SPs at the district level, he added.
He suggested stringent actions against any police personnel found involved in drug cases, including force retirement for drug abusers and addicts in the force.
Terrorism is the biggest enemy of human civilisation: Th Biswajit
Manipur Power Minister Th Biswajit Singh said that terrorism is today, the biggest enemy of human civilisation. He further said that by observing the day, the message of peace, humanity and unity in diversity is spread.
The minister further appealed all to join hands, to fight to protect humanity and combat terrorist activities from our soil and to make a meaning observation of the day.
