Bandh called in south Salmara-Mankachar

Guwahati: A 12-hour Bandh was called in south Salmara-Mankachar district of Assam by the small scale business and traders association. The bandh is called from 5 am to 5 pm on Tuesday.

The bandh was imposed due to the inhumane and immoral obstruction by Meghalaya police in movement of traders from the district into the neighboring state.

Meghalaya police have stopped the movements of traders in Mir Jumla road which connects Assam and Meghlaya, due to which the local traders and businessmen have suffered heavy loss.

The people in the Dhubri district have shown their support and have closed their shops in view of the bandh.
