Guwahati: At least two FIRs have been lodged registered with Slichar Police against All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) president Badaruddin Ajmal and his supporters for their alleged anti national activities.
While an FIR was lodged by BJP MP from Silchar Rajdeep Roy, the other one was lodged by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Silchar unit.
In both the FIRs, the complainants alleged that AIUDF workers had made slogans like ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ and sought immediate police action.
The MP is his FIR said, “It has come to my knowledge by the wide circulation of a Video footage of Silchar Airport while a huge number of supporters were gathered to welcome their leader Badaruddin Ajmal and shouted with a slogan ‘Pakistan Zindabad’. I, being a responsible citizen of the country strongly condemn such types of anti-national activities created by Badaruddin Azmal and his supporters in his presence. I urge the police administration and district administration to enquire about the matter properly and identity such types of anti-national people immediately and take exemplary action against them. You are therefore requested to take up the matter seriously in the interest of the country and take necessary action in no time.”
A video showing AIUDF supporters shouting slogans like ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ at Silchar airport went viral in Assam. However, the party claimed that they were saying ‘Aziz Khan zindabad’ and the video which went viral was doctored.
