Heavy rainfall likely in parts of North East : IMD

Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are predicted over Assam and some areas of northeast for three days. A well-marked low-pressure area located off Odisha progresses north-northeastward towards the West Bengal-Bangladesh coasts while developing.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall and thunderstorms with isolated extremely heavy fall are expected over regions adjacent to Bangladesh including Tripura, Meghalaya, Assam and West Bengal for the next three days, reported Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

The IMD also said that heavy rains and thunderstorms are possible over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Coastal Karnataka.

Moreover, scattered rain and thunderstorms are expected over Arunachal Pradesh and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, according to the IMD.
