
Dimapur, Oct. 31: The Committee on Public Undertakings (COPU) led by Advisor to Horticulture and Border Affairs Mhathung Yanthan inspected the Mini Cement Plant at Wazeho in Phek district from October 28 to the 30th.
The cement plant remained out of operation for the last 12 years causing loss to the state government, an update received here on Saturday stated.
During the visit, the committee members also inspected the functioning of the decorative and dimensional stone plant at Wazeho and Mali Farm at Pfutsero, under the department of Horticulture.
Yanthan was accompanied by Advisor for Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services and Women Resources R Khing, MLA Dr. Chotisuh Sazo; Commissioner and Secretary of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Dr. PJ Antony, and officials from NLA and Nagaland State Mineral Development Corporation Limited (NSMDC).
The committee will present report on its findings to the assembly during its next sitting.
