Guwahati: Union minister for external affairs S Jaishankar and Ambassador of Japan to India Satoshi Suzuki, along with a team of Japanese delegation visited Kamakhya temple on Monday morning.

They were accompanied by Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and cabinet minister Siddharth Bhattacharya.

After seeking blessing in the Kamakhya temple they headed towards the Water Supply project site.

Reportedly, the union minister and Japanese delegations are visiting the state to review Japanese funded government projects. Both will address the press today and make important announcements.

Notably, the 13th Japanese industrial town of India is being set up in Nagarbera and the Japan External Trade Organisation is heading the project.

The program has been organised by the Assam government at the International Convention Centre of Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Panjabari, Guwahati.

In a recent report, there has also been speculation about the possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding between the two countries to build and strengthen youth skills for better recruitment.

Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took Twitter and wrote, “What a blissful start to morning! Today, accompanied Hon EAM Sri @DrSJaishankar in his visit to Kamakhya Temple. May Ma bless everyone with good health and joy.”
