Guwahati: Last rites of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan Mritunjoy Chutiya, who was martyred on Thursday in jammu & Kashmir was performed on Saturday noon.
The mortal remains of the CRPF jawan had reached Dibrugarh airport on Saturday morning, from where it was sent to his native village at Sissiborgaon in Dhemaji district of Assam.
Chutia’s mortal remains were carried to Dibrugarh by an Indigo flight from J&K.
Top officials of the CRPF paid their last respects to the martyred constable. Moreover, the CRPF paid tribute though its official twitter handle to the constable Mritunjoy Chutia who succumbed to his injures on Thursday after being wounded in a grenade attack by militants in Jammu and Kashmir.
At least three CRPF jawan were injured when militants lobbed grenades at a CRPF party at Tawheed Chowk in the Dudderhama area of Ganderbal on Wednesday.
