Imphal: Manipur government resolves to ease the restrictions imposed to curb the spread of COVID-19 pandemic after 21 days of curfew. The State Cabinet in its meeting convened on Saturday has decided to discontinue curfew and instead adopt micro containment zone approach in line with the advisories of the Central Government.
A cabinet meeting was held on Saturday wherein it was also resolved that gram panchayats, village auuthorities, local clubs, etc will be fully engaged by deputy commissioners in ensuring strict micro containment zones and isolation of fresh positive cases, stated in a press release issued by the health department late Saturday.
Per the press release, the state Cabinet carefully reviewed the curfew imposed for 21 days to control Covid-19 in the state.
The decision to discontinue curfew was taken to maintain balance in livelihood and economic activities, it added.
The release stated that the cabinet in its meeting today expressed gratitude to the Centre for promptly deputing a Multi Disciplinary Expert Team on COVID 19 to Manipur, in response to the state’s request.
Further, the health department also requested the public to adopt COVID appropriate behaviour to fully control COVID-19 in Manipur.
