Imphal, May 27,2022: A team Manipur Police arrested 2 persons with drugs from Sugnu area. The Manipur police from Kakching Police commando seized 502 gram of Heroin during frisking and checking conducted at Sugnu Khongnang Makhong on Friday.
Per the sources, while conducting regular frisking and checking at Sugnu Khongnang Makhong at around 12.20 pm, a team of Kakching Commando led by SI Robindro Brown signalled two individuals coming in a Royal Enfield Bike from Serou side to stop. However, the duo tried to escape the checking party.
Manipur Police team after a short chase managed to detain the duo. The two individuals have been identified as Mangmuanlian (30) of Haika H village, Chakpikarong and Thangguanlian Zou (27) of the same village.
During the search, 40 soap cases suspected to be containing Heroin powder were recovered from the bag they were carrying. On weighing, the total weight of the suspected Heroin powder was found to be 502 gram excluding the weight of the soap cases, the source said.
The two individuals were arrested and the items including the vehicle were seized. The seized items along with the arrested individuals have been handed over to Sugnu Police Station for further necessary action.
