Nagaland’s Zunheboto set to become tobacco free district

Dimapur, Oct. 7: Zenheboto district in Nagaland is set to become Tobacco Free district. District-level co-ordination committee meeting led by district National Tobacco Control Programme was held on Wednesday at deputy commissioner’s conference office in Zunheboto.

Zunheboto DC Peter Lichamo congratulated Natha New, Sheipu and SBAK, Nito Mount Mission Centre on being declared a tobacco-free zone.

He urged the churches and NGOs to spread awareness through all possible means under their capacity about the harmful impacts of tobacco and work together in making our place a tobacco-free district.

He also appealed to the leaders present from villages to co-operate with the authorities so that more places can be declared as tobacco free zones.
