NFR cancels long distance trains due to fog. North India bound trains hit

GUWAHATI: The Northeast Frontier Railways (NFR) has cancelled at least four pairs of trains owing to the foggy weather in the region from Wednesday. Some of the trains will remain cancelled till February next year.

The NFR said that the decision was taken in order to reduce the inconvenience of traveling public due to late running of trains owing to foggy weather and to manage the train operations during the foggy season; it has been decided to cancel some trains from December 16 onwards.

The trains to remain cancelled from Wednesday are as follows:

1. Train No. 05909/05910 Dibrugarh – Lalgarh daily express special leaving from Dibrugarh will remain cancelled from December 16 up to January 31, 2021, and leaving from Lalgarh will remain cancelled from December 19 up to March 3, 2021.

2. Train No. 05933/05934 Dibrugarh – Amritsar weekly express special leaving from Dibrugarh will remain cancelled from December 22 up to January 26, 2021, and leaving from Amritsar will remain cancelled December.25 up to January 29, 2021.

3. Train No. 02549/02550 Kamakhya – Anand Vihar daily express special leaving from Kamakhya will remain cancelled from December 16 up to January 31, 2021, and leaving from Anand Vihar will remain cancelled December 18 up to February 2, 2021.

4. Train No. 05483/05484 Alipurduar – Delhi daily express special leaving from Alipurduar will remain cancelled from December 16 up to January 31, 2021, and leaving from Delhi will remain cancelled from December 18 up to February 2, 2021.
