Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu wished Manipur’s Bala Devi for her first-ever match with the foreign football club – Scottish Club ‘Rangers FC’.
The 29-year-old Manipuri striker has become the first-ever Indian woman footballer to bag a professional contract from a foreign football club.
Devi is among a group of 14 new players signed by the Scottish club. Currently donning the number 10 jersey for the Rangers’ women’s side, she made the switch to Scotland in March 2020.
The Scottish Women Premier League will kick start from October 18.
