Imphal, 18 May 2022: Manipur government suspended 5 police personnel for illegally renting out official quarters allotted to them. They were suspended upon completion of one of the investigations regarding subletting of official quarters.
The five police personnel include one woman constable posted at 9 IRB (Mahila), Khuman Lampak, one Constable posted at Bishnupur, One rifleman posted at 6 IRB, one Constable posted at Narcotic Cell and one Constable posted at Imphal East. Further, three police personnel are under investigation for allegedly sub-letting their quarters, a source said.
Concerned SPs and COs have issued separate suspension orders on Tuesday. The suspended police constables are identified as Head Constable Y Priyokumar posted at Imphal West Police, Rifleman Poungongrei Gangmei posted at 6 IRB, contable Ngangom Shantikumar posted at Bishnupur District Police, WPC Mangvung Hatkholam Haokip posted at 9 IRB (Mahila) and Constable Mutum Romen posted at Imphal East Police.
Earlier 3 employees were suspended on the similar charges.
