Shops in Mizoram keeps customers register to make contact tracing easy

Aizawl: In Aizawl capital of Mizoram, business activities have resumed after Unlock 5.0.

As of October 17, Mizoram’s COVID-19 tally stood at 2,245. The state has not recorded any novel coronavirus-related death so far. Mizoram is among four Northeast states to have allowed schools to partially reopen from September 21.

Days after the union home ministry issued a new set of guidelines for Unlock 4.0, allowing significant relaxations, Mizoram has come up with its own set of rules for unlocking.

Almost all shops in Mizoram maintains a register in which consumer or visitor has to write their name and phone number. The exercise and discipline is turning effective in contact tracing as and when new cases are detected. Almost all the shops in Mizoram religiously follow the guidelines and perhaps this discipline is making this North-East state the least affected by the Novel Corona virus.
