One person was injured in a suspected IED Blast at Imphal East. The explosion suspected to be IED occurred on Friday(13 May 2022) evening at Manipur’s Imphal East district.
The explosion took place near Mahabir Mandir located at Khurai Ahongei Telipati area around 8:40 pm.
The injured has been identified as Subham Prasad and is currently undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital.
The blast also damaged a motor bike and a Maruti Suzuki Alto car parked near to the last site. The windows glasses of the nearby houses were also shattered.
Imphal East police team rushed to the spot soon after the incident and investigation into the case is underway.
Meanwhile, Wangkhei MLA Thangjam Arunkumar visited the blast site and also met the injured person at the hospital.
No individual or organisations has claimed responsibility for the blast so far.
As tension ran high after the blast, a heavy exchange words could be seen between the furious residents of the locality and Manipur Police personals.
