Tarun Gogoi admitted to GMCH after suffering post-COVID complications

GUWAHATI: Assam’s former chief minister Tarun Gogoi has once again admitted to Gauhati medical college hospital (GMCH) on Sunday night. Last week Gogoi was discharged from GMCH after recovering from COVID-19.

Sources close to Gogoi said that he was suffering from some breathing problems on Sunday late evening. “It’s a post Covid19 complicacy. He is now in the ICU of GMCH and stable. A team of doctors has been inspecting his health round the clock,” the close aide of Gogoi said.

The GMCH authority is likely to update on his health later in the day.

Gogoi was discharged on October 25 after 60 days of hospitalisation.

The octogenarian former chief minister was admitted to the GMCH on August 26 after he tested positive for Covid19.

Following his release, Gogoi thanking the medical staff had tweeted: “I look forward to continuing my recovery at home under medical supervision.”
